First CFL Engagement

Dave's impressive back squat!

CrossFit London learned of some exciting news with the recent engagement of Dave Collie and Julia Stewart! They met at the gym this past summer when Julia signed up for a month-long Bootcamp, and they both quickly fell head-over-heels in love. Julia admitted that Dave’s fine physical physique kept her motivated to train at the gym consistently in the beginning stages of her CrossFit career. The wedding is planned for August 2010, although Dave may have to call it off if Julia remains unsuccessful in getting her first official pullup by that time. Congrats guys on your great news!!

Every once in a while someone will come through bootcamp and think that they can pull off a new trick to cheat a movement. The first thing I will say is that you are only cheating yourself. The second thing I will say is that we all have bad days. This is an opportunity for all of my members or other crossfitters to confess for skipped reps, cheating range of motion, Skipping class.... anything else that is less than was asked of you.

I think this is an important exercise because it reminds us where we came from and lets all the current bootcampers know, that everyone has been there...
