Dave and Julia Collie Aug 7, 2010

Dave and Julia Collie were married on Saturday August 7, 2010 at Julia's family cottage on Lac Brule, Quebec. The happy couple met only last summer at CrossFit London, and had their first date shortly after Julia completed Bootcamp. From the beginning, they both knew they were destined to spend the rest of their lives together. Individually Dave and Julia are both amazing people, and together they make a beautiful couple and couldn't be more suited to be husband and wife. Congratulations from everyone at CrossFit London!!

P.S. Directly from Dave: "Ladies at CrossFit don't stay single for long. I'm not making any promises, but the next Bootcamp starts in a few weeks and you never know what might happen when you sign up. Also, start eating meat."

John P post workout on one of the first really hot and humid days of the year

Heat acclimatization is an important consideration when in preparation for a race or sporting event. It's quite common for people (especially us Canadians) to be holiday racers. ie. going to Florida during the winter to do a marathon. Although the thought of moderate to hot temperatures and flat races in Florida sounds nice, you won't be fully performing to your maximum potential, with out a little extra preparation.

Heat acclimatization can take upto 2 wks. The rate at which certain bodily functions adapt are all different.
Cardiovascular function - the initial 1-5 days
Thermoregulatory adaptations (i.e., increased sweat rate, earlier onset of sweat production), coupled with cardiovascular adjustments, resul...
