Every once in a while someone will come through bootcamp and think that they can pull off a new trick to cheat a movement. The first thing I will say is that you are only cheating yourself. The second thing I will say is that we all have bad days. This is an opportunity for all of my members or other crossfitters to confess for skipped reps, cheating range of motion, Skipping class.... anything else that is less than was asked of you.
I think this is an important exercise because it reminds us where we came from and lets all the current bootcampers know, that everyone has been there...
Now that you have confessed do 20 burpees for integrity and we are square.
It's important to note, usually the first goal is to scale the workouts to get you through them with minimal rest. so choosing scaling that's appropriate to your ability is difficult and often we run into the issue of overloading at first because it always looks easier on paper than it actually is... on the other side the workout always needs to be challenging, so if one station is always an easy movement, then add challenge or use it as a rest to add challenge to a weaker movement.
To all the people that see my best athletes in action, they have stuck to the lighter longer rule. Keep the weights light only at the risk of having better form and higher intensity. You will know when its time for more. Keep coming to the gym and you can and will get there!
