Sit and Reach help needed

Postby hardcore on Thu Mar 13, 2008 12:57 pm

As part of a PT test I have coming up I need to improve my sit and reach stretch. Its not a stretch I do at all except for preparing for the test. It is as it sounds. Sit with you legs straght out and Reach for your toes, without bending the knees. Quite frankly I suck at it.

Any ideas?

Sounds good, thanks. It is similar in result to what Coach D told me as well I think. Basically by doing the resistance training I am exhausting the muscle and therefore 'forcing' it to relax, allowing for a greater stretch. If I understood correctly.

when practising you need to hold for longer than 30 seconds if you want to increase flexibility ,.... set a timer, I count super fast in my head when I do these stretches...

with all that extra running I would say we should get your hams a nice little stretching routine.... when you pop by the gym next remind me and I'll give you a quick before and after workout routine to hit... this should help ut the squat depth issue as well.
