Background: Dave Henry is a Level 2 CrossFit coach and athlete at CrossFit London. Dave has also been an NCCP Coach (National Coaching Certification Program) since 1998. Dave is an experienced trainer in Olympic Weightlifting, Power Lifting, Indoor Rowing, and Endurance Training. Dave has his Black Belts in Jui-Jitsu, Hapkido, Taekwondo, Kenpo, and Black Arts Military Unarmed Combat. Since 1997, Dave has been in the Army Reserve as a Non-Commissioned Officer and is currently employed as a Section Commander, at the rank of Sergeant in an Infantry Unit. He has held a formal instructional role with the military since 2001. Dave is also a certified First Aid Instructor.As the owner of the gym, Dave has been involved with fitness for his entire life, but beginning in 2002, a more focused effort was made in preparation for some military endurance races. Some recent sporting highlights include participating in the Bataan Death March (43 km total distance) where he placed 14th in the Military Heavy Division, and 320th overall out of approximately 3,300 athletes. Dave has also participated in the 2 CMBG Ironman (50 km total distance). In both military races, competitors were required to run with a 35-45 lb weighted rucksack for the entire race distance. Dave’s passion for fitness and athletic success is evident in the effort he puts into each and every one of his clients each time he steps onto the floor to coach.

Background: Jennifer has been an athlete and nutrition-enthusiast her entire life.  Growing up, she excelled in competitive soccer, track and field, cross country, swimming, and ice hockey.  While earning her first degree in Life Sciences at Queen’s University, Jennifer was a member of the Women’s Varsity Ice Hockey Team, winning an OUA silver and bronze medal.  Jennifer’s athletic career also included four years as a Varsity Rower, split between her time at Queen’s and The University of Western Ontario where she completed a second degree in Foods & Nutrition.  While rowing at UWO, Jen successfully won the OUA banner twice, a Canadian Championship, and stroked her varsity boat to win and set a new course record at Head of the Charles in Boston, MA. She has also medaled at the National Rowing Championships competing against Canadian Olympic rowers. Currently, Jennifer avidly trains at CrossFit London to stay in shape, and her career highlights include a second place finish at the Ontario CrossFit Challenge (women’s scaled division) in July 2009 and a third place finish at the 2010 CrossFit Games Sectionals in Toronto.

As a Registered Dietitian and Sports Nutritionist, Jennifer founded a professional nutrition consulting practice that provides clients with personalized nutrition support.  Jennifer enjoys working with athletes of all levels, intimately grasping the impact that sports nutrition can have on performance and injury prevention.  Jennifer is happy to offer one-on-one nutrition counselling, computerized diet analyses, individualized meal planning, healthy recipes, and practical, time-efficient tips to help making healthy eating the “easy choice” in a busy world. Andrew D. Jones

Andrew D. Jones – Registered Massage Therapist

Andrew’s Credentials:

-Member with the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO)

Background: Andrew D. Jones RMT is a registered massage therapist and athlete at CrossFit London. Andrew has experience in power lifting, strength training and has been training martial arts since he was 15, and wrestled at the provincial championship level. At 17 years old Andrew also went to Santander, Spain solely to train Judo with internationally competing Judoka, and under respected Judo coach Cesar Tapia Trueba.

Andrew also has competed in mixed martial arts and kickboxing and will continue to do so as it is something very close to his heart.

Andrew’s style of massage is deeper than most and focus’s on restoring movement where movement has been lost. This style of treatment is geared towards maximum results within the shortest time frame possible.

Treatment is aimed to improve posture and biomechanics of the body resulting in the body being able to fulfill its maximum potential.
